BJ's Rotisserie Chicken

I picked up a rotisserie chicken @ BJ's for dinner. Net weight 2.5 pounds. Kind of spooky that they can raise chickens that all come out dressed and cleaned at exactly 2.5 pounds. But that isn't the thing that really got me. The thing that really got me was the servings per container (one 2.5 lb chicken). The label claimed "about 12"!!!

Let me try a few calculations, here.
First, 2.5 lbs = 2.5 lbs*16 ounces/lb= 40 ounces.  Serving size = 3 ounces.  3 ounces/serving*12 servings=36 ounces.  Soooo, I'm supposed to believe that the weight of the bones is only about 4 ounces?  One 10th of the total weight of the chicken is in its bones and cartilage?

Second, twelve 3 ounce servings.  Come on!  Have you ever been able to feed more than 5 or 6 people with one chicken? Twelve???  Let's say an average family of four would finish the chicken.  That would mean that each person would eat "about" 4 servings.

Looking at the "Nutrition Facts" one can quickly see why BJ's has made the serving size so small... Four servings would give you 100% of your recommended daily Cholesterol intake, 80% of your recommended daily sodium intake, and over 150% of your recommended daily protein intake!

Maybe that table should be called "Lack of Nutrition  Facts"!!!
